Reason magazine's Jacob Sullum examines early discussion about criminalizing any and all promotion for offshore casinos and sportsbooks.

If sustained, it could likely have a ripple effect on sites (The RX) who even LINK to casinos, or even LINK to a page that LINKS to a casino.

Unlikely it seems, since we know the ACLU would step up for us, but something everyone here needs to be up on, imho.

The Rx is located/operated offshore so I do not see how the US will get to us, but for owners of sites in the US, yes it is a concern most certainly.

I have been saying these things all along. EVERY attorney I have spoken with about this thinks this is almost laughable. After all, have you ever heard of someone convicted of telling someone an illegal bookies phone number? How about threatening phone companies for connecting calls? The list goes on, the DOJ is just harassing people and it should be no surprise that it is a crony of John ASS-croft in Missouri that is leading the charge with this effort. They won't get any convictions, but throwing their weight around at many companies that donate to Republicans has given them some results.
